Subaru Then and Now

A post shared by Subaru of America (@subaru_usa) on

Subaru’s journey in America has been a long one. It all started when in the late 1960’s, the Subaru 360, weighing about 1,000 pounds, and costing less than a Volkswagen Beetle, was imported. From there, Subaru began selling the Brat, which was a quasi-pickup, quasi-car but boasted symmetrical all-wheel-drive. During the 1984 Olympics, Subaru was touting it’s Outback wagon as the “official car of the U.S. Ski Team.”

Fast-forwarding to 2001, Subaru released the Baja – a four-door passenger vehicle that recalled the earlier Brat. 2005 brought the Subaru B9 Tribeca SUV. And though the Subaru Tribeca was discontinued in 2014, four years later, Subaru is innovating yet again with a brand new, completely fresh large 3-row SUV: The 2019 Subaru Ascent.

All About the new Ascent SUV

The Subaru Ascent is priced at an attainable $31,995. The biggest Subaru SUV to date, the Ascent makes room for your family and friends, and all their cargo, too! This SUV can, in fact, seat up to eight passengers! As you’d expect, traversing inclement weather or off-road terrain is no issue, thanks to a high ground clearance and standard symmetrical all-wheel-drive. Need to tow a trailer or boat? The Ascent will tow up to 5,000 pounds! What’s more, the Ascent is extremely safe, thanks to Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology coming standard. And if all of the above weren’t enough, this SUV comes tricked out with all the latest in-car infotainment technology, including a standard SUBARU STARLINK™ multimedia system.
